In 2024, the Children’s Justice Center of Oʻahu (CJC) tracked a total of 1,028 cases involving child sex abuse, physical abuse, child sex trafficking, internet crimes against children, and children who have witnessed violent crime. Out of this number, 529 children were interviewed at the CJC.
During the same year, Friends of the Children’s Justice Center provided essential support and services to these children through our Hoʻōla Nā Manaʻo (HNM) Program. The HNM Program allows children to request items and services that will aid in their healing journey. We provide everything from basic necessities, such as bedding, clothing, and groceries, to quality-of-life enhancements, including musical instrument lessons, sports equipment, school supplies, therapeutic hobbies, holiday gifts, and more.
Our mission is to help child survivors of abuse and maltreatment heal from their trauma and rediscover the joy of being a child.
In 2024, we fulfilled over 1,000 requests, helping 782 children through our HNM program. Donations are vital for us to continue supporting these children and many more.
